Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)

IMRT is an advanced form of external beam radiation. Rather than using a single beam, IMRT breaks up radiation into thousands of pencil-thin beams to attacking a tumor from multiple angles. Potent radiation doses are delivered with minimal effect on nearby tissue and organs.

Denver Oncology is the only group in Colorado to also offer "dynamic" IMRT therapy. This provides a non-stop field of radiation which is preferable for treating certain types of cancer, such as head and neck.
